BIKE FOR GOD 2009 - Calgary
If
your family enjoys biking and is interested in a fun way of supporting the
“Christmas
Shoebox” program of Samaritan’s Purse, please read on…
WHAT:
Bike for God is a 25-km bike ride fundraiser along the Bow River Bike trails.
WHO:
Kids age 14 & under - same as the kids who get shoeboxes; we invite older
teens to ride as trail rangers!
WHEN:
Saturday morning, August 29th, 2009 from
8:30-11:30
WEATHER:
Rain or shine, we ride anyway and think of the kids we're raising money for :)
WHERE:
Along the bike trails of the Bow River. Start/finish line Shouldice
Park, just behind the tennis courts and the Shouldice
Aquatic Centre.
WHY:
This is a fundraiser event to allow our kids to serve and to support Operation
Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse, a nondenominational Christian
relief and development organization. Operation Christmas Child collects
gift-filled shoeboxes and distributes them to children suffering from war,
poverty, natural disaster, famine or disease. In countries where Christian
literature is permitted, a booklet telling the Story of Jesus is offered along
with each shoebox. All Bike for God funds are designated
for these booklets.
THE RULES!
